If I had to decide now I would choose:

If I had to decide now between doing an advertisement or a trailer, I  would choose a trailer.

Influences:
I would choose to do a trailer based on a story line like 'The Fault In Our Stars' or 'My Sister's Keeper' where a tragedy/illness is present.

- I would choose a story line like this as I feel like I can relate quite well to the story line and I can connect with the experiences that the characters go through. If I were to do a trailer, I would most likely do a teaser trailer as I think that doing this type of trailer would be ideal for the audience as you would not be giving too much about the film and therefore encourage them to go and watch what you have just advertised.
-I would use different clips from the film without giving too much away within the trailer. By using enigma codes, I would try to encourage/persuade the audience to want to come along and watch the film when it's released. By mixing clips from different parts of the film, you do not give away the entire story line and therefore make the audience want to go and see what the story line is like.

How would you do it?
- Research a variety of different illnesses and decide what would be touching towards the audience and which would be the best for the film trailer.
- Decide how the illness will affect the people around them.
- Show clips from their life as they cope with the illness.
- Character falls in love - Show clips of something/someone that the character falls in love with.
- Tradegy affects entire situation - show fast flashes of shots to demonstrate the dramatic situation.
- Narration about the struggle of dealing with the illness and general speech about life.
